Ravida sea salt is produced from the low waters of the Mediterranean sea along the western coast of Sicily. It is a natural, untreated salt made using traditional methods, that is rich in minerals such as iodine, fluorine, magnesium and potassium, all of which make it an ideal table salt. In the springtime, salt pans are filled with waters from a shallow lagoon, known for its high mineral content. Evaporation takes place over the next six months with the help of the intense Sicilian sun and strong African winds. The salt is harvested and simply crushed and ground without any additional refining.
